Mahindra Takes Possession of 800 Acres Near Nagpur for ₹15,000-Crore Manufacturing Hub

Date:

Mahindra & Mahindra has taken possession of 800 acres in the Additional Butibori industrial area near Nagpur, Maharashtra. The site will house an integrated automobile and tractor manufacturing hub, backed by an investment of more than ₹15,000 crore.

The Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) handed over the land within six months of the memorandum of understanding signed at Advantage Vidarbha 2026. That is a quick turnaround for an industrial project of this scale. Mahindra has been allotted 1,500 acres in total at the location.

The greenfield facility is scheduled to begin production in 2028. Once fully operational, it is planned to produce more than five lakh vehicles and one lakh tractors every year. That would bring the company’s automotive and farm equipment manufacturing together at a single site.

The project is also expected to create over 20,000 direct jobs, a major boost for employment in the Vidarbha region. A manufacturing hub of this size is also likely to draw component suppliers, logistics providers and support services to the area. This would strengthen Nagpur’s position as an emerging industrial destination in Maharashtra and support the state’s push for more balanced regional development.
