BRICS 2026 in Delhi: Full Traffic Plan, Restricted Roads and Best Ways to Reach Airport & Railway Stations

Date:

Delhi commuters may face traffic disruptions as the national capital hosts the BRICS Summit 2026. With global leaders arriving for the high-profile event, authorities have introduced special traffic arrangements, route restrictions and diversions to ensure smooth movement of VIP convoys.

Several key routes around central Delhi, including areas near Bharat Mandapam and major corridors connected to the airport, are expected to experience controlled traffic movement. Delhi Traffic Police has announced multiple diversion points and advised commuters to plan their journeys in advance.

Travellers heading towards Indira Gandhi International Airport and railway stations have been advised to keep extra travel time in hand. Authorities have recommended using Delhi Metro wherever possible, as road movement may be affected due to temporary restrictions and VIP movements.

Commuters travelling from areas such as Noida, Dwarka and South Delhi should particularly plan alternate routes to avoid delays. While Delhi will not be completely shut down, sudden stoppages and diversions during convoy movement may increase travel time.

Passengers using buses, taxis or app-based cabs are advised to check live traffic updates before starting their journey. Officials have also urged citizens to avoid unnecessary travel near restricted zones and follow updated traffic instructions.

The BRICS Summit-related traffic measures will remain active during the event period, making advance planning essential for office-goers, travellers and daily commuters across Delhi-NCR.
