NHAI Floats ₹9,030 Crore Greenfield Highway Project Tender in Maharashtra

Date:

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has invited bids for the construction of a six-lane, access-controlled greenfield highway project in Maharashtra. The proposed corridor will stretch from Ahilyanagar to Hasapur and is being tendered as the Ahilyanagar Bypass Package 2.

Estimated at ₹9,030.38 crore, the project will be developed under the build-operate-transfer (BOT Toll) model, reflecting NHAI’s continued push toward large-scale infrastructure expansion through public-private participation. The scope of work includes the construction of new pavements, major and minor bridges, culverts, and interchanges to improve connectivity and traffic flow across the region.

In addition to the greenfield highway development, the contract also includes the operation and maintenance of several existing highway stretches along NH-160, NH-61, NH-561A, NH-65, and NH-150E. These routes connect important locations such as Walunj, Tembhurni, Solapur, and Akkalkot, making the project a significant step toward strengthening Maharashtra’s transport infrastructure.

The initiative is expected to enhance road capacity, reduce travel time, and ensure smoother transit across key corridors in the state. The construction timeline has been set at 36 months, while the deadline for bid submission is July 8, 2026.
