IRB Infrastructure Trust has commenced toll collection on the Meerut–Budaun stretch of the Ganga Expressway, marking a significant operational milestone for the infrastructure asset and strengthening revenue generation from the project.
The start of tolling indicates that the operational stretch has reached a stage where traffic movement and commercial operations are now active. The development is expected to contribute positively to the trust’s cash flows while enhancing regional road connectivity across key parts of Uttar Pradesh.
Infrastructure experts note that expressway projects such as the Ganga Expressway play a critical role in reducing travel time, improving logistics efficiency, and supporting economic activity in connected regions. Toll activation also reflects progress in monetising large-scale road infrastructure investments through operational revenue streams.
The Meerut–Budaun corridor is expected to improve movement for passenger and commercial traffic, boosting accessibility between urban and semi-urban centers. Analysts believe the operationalisation of such stretches adds momentum to broader infrastructure development and asset performance in India’s road sector.
For IRB Infrastructure Trust, the commencement of tolling strengthens its portfolio of income-generating transport assets and supports long-term infrastructure investment returns.
