Biogas Plant Construction Project to Power North Andhra’s Green Industrial Push

On 11 November 2025, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said North Andhra, particularly Vizianagaram, is set for rapid industrial growth with new green construction projects centred on clean energy.

Naidu virtually laid the foundation stone for biogas plant construction projects to be developed by PVS Rammohann Industries in Vizianagaram and Srikakulam districts. With a total project cost of Rs 102 crore, these facilities will utilise agricultural waste to generate power, supporting both the energy sector and the rural economy.

In the initial phase, the plants are designed to process around 50 tonnes of agricultural waste per day, converting it into biogas-based power. Officials said the projects will help tackle the issue of crop residue burning, reduce pollution and provide farmers with an additional source of income.

Minister for Tribal Welfare Gummadi Sandhya Rani and Vizianagaram MLA Aditi Vijayalakshmi joined the Chief Minister at the virtual event. Naidu stated that such sustainable infrastructure and construction projects will be crucial in positioning North Andhra as a key hub for eco-friendly industrial development and in attracting future investments to the region.
