At a recent event held by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in Indore, industry experts emphasized the importance of adopting sustainable practices in the construction and industrial sectors. The “CII Sustainability Talks,” the first such workshop by CII’s new center in Indore, focused on helping businesses align with national targets to achieve net-zero emissions by 2070.
Experts addressed several sustainability challenges facing construction and industry, from energy and water management to waste disposal. Dr. Jasleen Bhatti, a leader from the CII-ITC Centre for Excellence for Sustainable Development, discussed strategies for evaluating and reducing emissions at various operational levels. Additionally, Sunil Chordia highlighted that sustainable practices could lead to long-term economic benefits and strengthen industry credibility.
With new construction projects underway in Indore, the session encouraged companies to integrate green technologies and energy-efficient systems, not only to meet regulatory standards but to improve profitability. This workshop represents a broader push in Indore for sustainability as the construction industry continues to grow.
