NeGD and IPA Join Forces to Revolutionize Port Logistics in India

New Delhi witnessed a significant stride in digital transformation on December 24, 2024, as the National e-Governance Division (NeGD) and the Indian Ports Association (IPA) signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). Shri Nand Kumarum, IAS, President and CEO of NeGD, and Shri Vikas Narwal, IAS, Managing Director of IPA, formalized the agreement in the presence of Dr. Arvind Bhisikar, Executive Director (IT) of IPA, and Shri Rajnish Kumar, COO of NeGD.

The MoU aims to drive technological advancements in India’s maritime sector by combining NeGD’s digital expertise with IPA’s insights into port logistics and the shipping industry. This strategic partnership focuses on modernizing logistics systems, integrating advanced software, enhancing operational efficiency, and adopting emerging technologies.

The initiative is expected to address key challenges like fragmented logistics, outdated practices, and limited digital infrastructure. The collaboration envisions interconnected ports leveraging real-time data and analytics to optimize operations, reduce turnaround time, and boost supply chain efficiencies.

This partnership represents a pivotal step toward building a smarter maritime ecosystem, aligning with India’s ambition to lead in the global digital transformation of port operations.
