In a significant contribution to one of the largest religious gatherings in the world, the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) has supplied 45,000 tonnes of steel for the construction and infrastructure development of the Mahakumbh Mela 2025 in Prayagraj.
The steel, sourced from SAIL’s state-of-the-art plants, is being used in the construction of temporary and permanent structures, including bridges, roads, shelters, and sanitation facilities, ensuring robust and sustainable infrastructure for the event. The Mahakumbh Mela, which attracts millions of devotees, demands large-scale infrastructure to accommodate pilgrims and manage the logistical challenges effectively.
“SAIL is proud to support the Mahakumbh Mela with high-quality steel that ensures safety, durability, and efficiency in infrastructure. This contribution underscores our commitment to nation-building and catering to large-scale events of national significance,” said a SAIL spokesperson.
The use of SAIL’s steel ensures that the infrastructure is prepared to handle the immense footfall while adhering to safety and sustainability standards. With the preparations for Mahakumbh Mela 2025 in full swing, the supply of steel marks a critical step in completing key projects on time.
