India’s infrastructure and manufacturing sectors recorded significant developments, with NCC securing a major road construction contract in Telangana and JSW Steel reporting an increase in quarterly crude steel production.
NCC Limited has received a Letter of Acceptance from Hyderabad Growth Corridor Limited for a road construction project valued at ₹1,286.03 crore, excluding GST. The project involves constructing Radial Road-2 from the Outer Ring Road near Budwel to Nacharam on NH-167N, covering the Budwel-to-Shabad section. The project is expected to be completed within 18 months.
The contract strengthens NCC’s order pipeline and highlights continued investment in road connectivity around Hyderabad. Improved road infrastructure can support regional development, enhance transportation efficiency and facilitate economic activity across Telangana.
Meanwhile, JSW Steel reported a 5% year-on-year increase in consolidated crude steel production to 7.27 million tonnes in the second quarter of FY2026-27. Production from its Indian operations reached 7.07 million tonnes during the quarter. The company’s consolidated output for the first half of FY2026-27 increased 4% year-on-year to 13.86 million tonnes.
The growth in steel production comes amid ongoing infrastructure development and industrial activity across India. Steel remains a critical material for highways, bridges, commercial buildings and other large-scale construction projects.
Together, these developments highlight activity across two important pillars of India’s economic growth: infrastructure development and steel manufacturing. Continued investment in connectivity and production capacity will remain important for supporting the country’s expanding construction and industrial requirements.
