PM Modi Launches Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit, Highlights Economic Growth

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Advantage Assam 2.0 Investment & Infrastructure Summit 2025 in Guwahati, Assam. He emphasized the significant role of Eastern and Northeastern India in the nation’s prosperity, stating that the region is embarking on a new journey toward development. Modi highlighted the global confidence in India’s rapid growth, driven by its skilled youth and emerging neo-middle class. He noted that Assam’s economy has more than doubled from ₹2.75 lakh crore in 2018 to approximately ₹6 lakh crore, attributing this growth to focused investments in education, skill development, and infrastructure.

The Prime Minister also underscored improvements in connectivity, citing the construction of four new bridges over the Brahmaputra River and the expansion of air routes from seven to nearly thirty since 2014. These developments aim to integrate Assam more closely with global markets and enhance economic opportunities in the region.
