India to Launch 2,800-Km Kandla-Gorakhpur LPG Pipeline by June

India is set to commission the 2,800-km Kandla-Gorakhpur LPG pipeline by June, a major infrastructure project aimed at enhancing the country’s energy security. The pipeline, spanning across Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh, is expected to streamline the transportation of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), ensuring a steady supply to bottling plants across North and Central India.

Developed by Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL) in collaboration with Bharat Petroleum (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum (HPCL), this pipeline will reduce reliance on road and rail transportation, significantly cutting logistics costs and carbon emissions. It will have an annual capacity of 8.25 million metric tonnes, making it the longest LPG pipeline in the world upon completion.

The project is expected to boost the efficiency of LPG distribution, ensuring faster and more reliable delivery to households and industries. Additionally, it aligns with India’s goal of promoting clean energy and reducing environmental impact. With its commissioning, millions of consumers will benefit from a more sustainable and cost-effective LPG supply chain.
