Action Construction Equipment Approves JV with KATO WORKS for Heavy Crane Manufacturing

Date:

Action Construction Equipment Limited (ACE) has approved the formation of a joint venture with KATO WORKS CO., LTD. to manufacture heavy cranes, marking a significant step in expanding its presence in the high-capacity lifting equipment segment.

The proposed joint venture aims to combine ACE’s strong domestic manufacturing base and market reach with KATO WORKS’ advanced technology and global expertise in crane engineering. The collaboration is expected to focus on the production of heavy-duty cranes tailored to infrastructure, construction, energy, and industrial projects.

Company officials stated that the partnership will facilitate technology transfer, enhance product localisation, and improve competitiveness in both domestic and international markets. With India witnessing sustained growth in infrastructure spending—across highways, metro projects, ports, and industrial corridors—the demand for high-capacity cranes is projected to remain strong.

Industry analysts believe the joint venture will enable ACE to move up the value chain and expand its product portfolio into more specialised, higher-margin equipment categories. For KATO WORKS, the collaboration provides strategic access to India’s growing construction equipment market.

The alliance reflects a broader trend of Indo-Japanese industrial partnerships, leveraging combined strengths in manufacturing efficiency and technological innovation. The ACE–KATO joint venture is expected to play a key role in meeting rising demand for heavy cranes in India and beyond.
