BBMP to Use AI for Khata Document Delivery and Illegal Construction Detection

Date:

Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has announced that the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) will implement Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance urban governance in Bengaluru. The BBMP plans to use AI to streamline the delivery of draft khata documents directly to citizens’ doorsteps and to identify illegal constructions across the city.

Shivakumar confirmed that home delivery of khata documents will begin in April, as BBMP has already digitized all property records. This initiative is expected to boost the reach and efficiency of the e-khata program, making it more accessible and transparent for citizens. The government also aims to increase awareness of the program through consultations with local MLAs to ensure smooth implementation.

The AI-driven approach is part of a broader effort to modernize Bengaluru’s administrative processes and tackle the growing problem of unauthorized constructions. By leveraging technology, the BBMP aims to make urban governance more efficient, citizen-friendly, and data-driven.
