Techno Electric & Engineering Company (TEECL), through its digital infrastructure arm Techno Digital, has launched a new Edge Data Center (EDC) project in Mahalaxmi, South Mumbai, strengthening India’s growing digital infrastructure landscape. Developed with an investment of Rs 25 crore, the facility marks the company’s second edge data centre in the country after its Gurugram site.
The 800-kW Mumbai EDC has been developed in collaboration with RailTel Corporation of India under a 20-year revenue-sharing partnership. Strategically located in Mumbai’s key financial and media district, the centre is built to meet rising demand for low-latency, AI-ready, and high-performance digital infrastructure.
The facility is designed to support enterprises that require real-time data processing, faster connectivity, and dependable infrastructure for mission-critical applications. Sectors such as banking, fintech, media, and digital services are expected to benefit significantly from the new project as demand for edge computing and AI infrastructure continues to rise across India.
According to the company, the Mumbai data center will play a crucial role in strengthening the city’s digital ecosystem while supporting advanced enterprise workloads. Techno Digital Director and CEO Ankit Saraiya stated that this launch is part of the company’s broader USD 1 billion vision to establish one of India’s largest interconnected AI-ready digital infrastructure networks, including hyperscale campuses, edge data centres, cloud platforms, and network ecosystems.
