Expert Opinion: US-Iran War Could Push Home Prices Higher in India

Date:

Global conflicts always affect many industries and the real estate sector is one of the first to feel the pressure. If the US-Iran war continues for a long time, construction costs in India may increase and this can make homes more expensive for buyers. Developers are already worried about rising prices of important materials like steel, cement, pipes, glass and tiles, which are needed in almost every building project. When fuel prices increase during global tension, transportation and manufacturing also become costly and this raises the total cost of construction.

Another major problem can be delay in project completion. If materials become expensive or difficult to get, builders may not be able to finish projects on time. This can create trouble for both developers and home buyers who are waiting for possession of their flats. Even though India produces many construction materials locally, global conflicts can still disturb supply chains and increase overall expenses.

In big cities like Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru, even a small increase in steel or fuel prices can raise the cost per square foot. Because of this, property prices may go up in the coming months.

In my opinion, if the war continues for a longer period, the real estate market may slow down, projects may get delayed and buying a home may become more expensive for common people.
