The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) is set to begin land acquisition in January for a major expressway construction project aimed at improving regional connectivity. The authority plans to acquire about 740 acres from 16 villages for a 74.3-km link expressway that will connect the Ganga Expressway with the Yamuna Expressway.
The land procurement exercise is expected to cost nearly ₹1,200 crore, while the total project outlay is estimated at around ₹4,000 crore. Once completed, the new corridor will offer a direct and faster road link to the upcoming Noida International Airport at Jewar, significantly easing travel for passengers and cargo.
The proposed expressway will pass through Gautam Budh Nagar and Bulandshahr districts, with land requirements extending across 56 villages in both districts. Nearly 20 km of the route will fall within YEIDA’s development area. This stretch will include a nine-km elevated section designed to maintain smooth traffic flow. In addition, a 24-metre-wide service road is planned alongside the main carriageway to facilitate local movement.
YEIDA Chief Executive Officer R.K. Singh said the alignment will begin near Syana at the 44.3-km point on the Ganga Expressway and will connect with the Yamuna Expressway near Film City in Sector 21. The project is expected to play a key role in strengthening the region’s road infrastructure.
