UltraTech Cement Strengthens Green Logistics with EV Deployment

Date:

In a significant step towards sustainable logistics, UltraTech Cement has committed to deploying 500 electric vehicle (EV) trucks by 2025. The company recently signed a new transport service contract to roll out an initial fleet of 100 EV trucks. These trucks will be instrumental in transporting approximately 75,000 metric tonnes of clinker monthly.

This initiative aligns with UltraTech Cement’s broader vision of reducing its carbon footprint and enhancing the efficiency of its supply chain. By integrating EV trucks into its logistics operations, the company aims to cut emissions significantly, contributing to India’s sustainability goals. The shift to EV trucks is also expected to optimize operational costs while promoting cleaner energy solutions in the cement sector. With the global push towards decarbonization, UltraTech Cement’s proactive approach highlights its commitment to environmental stewardship and innovation.

As India continues to emphasize green initiatives, UltraTech Cement’s move is a notable benchmark in the industrial logistics space, setting an example for other sectors to follow. The company’s long-term vision underscores the growing importance of sustainable practices in shaping the future of business operations in India. This deployment marks a transformative step, aligning economic growth with environmental responsibility.
