Northern Railway today invited bids for the balance construction works on the new broad-gauge (BG) line project connecting Hajipur to Talwara, a key component of the NLDM–TLR rail-link initiative. Valued at an estimated Rs 359.71 crore, the tender encompasses a wide range of civil-engineering tasks to be completed within 24 months of work commencement.
The project package includes extensive earthworks, the erection of multiple railway bridges and retaining walls, and the construction of road underbridges (RUBs) and limited-height subways (LHS) to ensure uninterrupted local traffic. In addition, the selected contractor will build station buildings and platforms along the route, as well as all allied track-laying and signaling infrastructure. A notable element is the creation of a triangular junction between Patial and Bhangala, which will enhance operational flexibility and train movements in the region.
Spanning several states, this new BG rail link project is designed to bolster freight and passenger connectivity across the northern corridor. Bidders must demonstrate prior experience in large-scale rail projects and meet stringent technical and financial criteria set by Northern Railway.
Prospective contractors can submit their bids until 05 August 2025. Detailed tender documents and specifications are available on Northern Railway’s e-procurement portal. The successful bidder will play a pivotal role in advancing India’s rail infrastructure and strengthening regional transport networks.
