The Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC) has received initial proposals from major logistics players—including Gateway Distriparks and Dubai-based Sharaf Group—for the development of private logistics parks near the Pithampur industrial hub in the Indore region. Each company has requested approximately 40 acres of land, strategically located near the upcoming Indore–Dhar railway line.
These proposed private parks would be established on leased land under MPIDC’s policy framework, which includes tailored incentives to drive investment. The developments are intended to complement the state-led ₹1,110 crore Multi-Modal Logistics Park (MMLP) under construction in Sector 6, Pithampur, spanning approximately 250 acres.
MPIDC Executive Director Himanshu Prajapati noted that these are the first private logistics park proposals in the region, marking a significant shift toward PPP-driven logistics infrastructure. Once operational, the combined logistics ecosystem is expected to bolster connectivity, reduce transportation costs, and support industrial expansion across Central India.
The Pithampur hub benefits from its proximity to industrial clusters and the Indore–Dhar rail line, positioning it as an emerging logistics gateway. With both government-led and private initiatives aligning, Pithampur is poised to become a key node in India’s multimodal supply chain network.
