More Than One‑Third of Construction Professionals Now Use AI, Report Finds

A recent Houzz State of AI in Construction and Design Report 2025 reveals that over one-third of construction professionals in the U.S. are now using artificial intelligence in their work. Among larger construction firms, adoption rates are nearly double the industry average.

Early adopters of AI report saving over three hours per week and estimate annual productivity gains of around ₹170,000 per company. Across the board, two-thirds of respondents expect AI to transform the construction sector within five years.

The report highlights the most common AI use cases: nearly half (47%) of professionals rely on it for administrative tasks like note-taking and document formatting; 42% use it to manage projects and clients via estimating, invoicing, and task tracking; while 37% employ AI in sales and marketing—especially for social media content and lead generation.

Adoption among larger firms stands out. As firms scale AI integration, they are laying groundwork for broader transformation across design, logistics, and field operations.

The findings mark a pivotal shift: AI is no longer a fringe technology in construction—it’s quickly becoming core to business functions. With measurable efficiency gains and broader impact predicted, the construction industry appears poised to enter a new digital era.
