LuLu Group Chairman and Managing Director MA Yusuff Ali has announced the launch of a mega shopping mall project in Visakhapatnam, set to create employment for 5,000 to 8,000 people. Speaking at the Investopia-CII meeting in Vijayawada, Ali stated that the upcoming mall would be a major boost to the local economy, similar to the LuLu Mall in Cochin, which currently employs over 8,200 individuals.
The Visakhapatnam mall is part of LuLu Group’s broader investment strategy in Andhra Pradesh. The company also plans to establish a food processing plant and a hypermarket in Vijayawada, with more hypermarkets to follow in other major cities across the state.
These projects are expected to significantly drive job creation and economic development across sectors. The proposed food processing unit will rely on the region’s rich agricultural resources, ensuring a consistent supply to LuLu’s 38 food processing plants worldwide. Currently, the Group exports substantial quantities of fruits and vegetables from Andhra Pradesh, underscoring the state’s critical role in its global supply chain.
The projects reflect LuLu Group’s strong commitment to infrastructure, trade, and employment growth in Andhra Pradesh.
