Larsen & Toubro’s Water & Effluent Treatment (WET) business vertical has secured significant EPC orders from the Public Health Engineering Department of Rajasthan, India, aimed at bolstering the state’s water infrastructure. The primary award is for Phase II, Package 1 of the Rajasthan Rural Water Supply and Fluorosis Mitigation Project. Under this scope, L&T will supply and install 5,251 km of transmission and distribution pipelines, construct 38 ground-level reservoirs with a combined capacity of 40 ML, build 20 pump houses, and erect 132 overhead service reservoirs totaling 25 ML. This initiative is designed to meet potable water requirements for 285 villages, as well as the towns of Surajgarh and Udaipurwati in Jhunjhunu district.
In a separate award, L&T will strengthen and rehabilitate the water supply system in the Kekri–Sarwar sector of Ajmer district by supplying and installing 43 km of transmission pipelines. Both projects include associated electromechanical, instrumentation, automation, and SCADA works, along with a one-year defects liability period and ten years of operations and maintenance. These repeat orders underscore L&T’s proven execution capabilities; to date, the company has delivered 24 water infrastructure projects in Rajasthan alone.
