IMC Clears Path for Tilak Nagar-Ring Road Connectivity

Date:

The Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) has initiated a significant infrastructure project in Tilak Nagar to enhance connectivity and alleviate traffic congestion. On Tuesday, IMC officials conducted a drive to remove obstacles hindering the construction of a master plan road designed to link Tilak Nagar directly to the Ring Road.

Acting on a court order, the boundary wall of a private school was demolished to clear the necessary land for the road’s development. Additionally, four plots have been acquired to facilitate the construction of this approximately 750-meter stretch. IMC member Rajesh Udawat highlighted that this new route will benefit commuters from several colonies and ease traffic on Kanadia Road. Currently, residents must detour through Mahaveer Nagar to access the Ring Road; the new road will provide a more direct path.

Beyond the immediate benefits, IMC has plans to construct another road connecting Tilak Nagar and Badi Gwaltoli, offering an additional route for those traveling to and from the Ring Road. A work order valued at approximately ₹2.5 crore has been issued for the construction of the concrete road, installation of a storm water line, creation of footpaths, and relocation of electric poles. This initiative aims to reduce the heavy traffic load currently experienced on Anand Bazaar Road and LIG Link Road by providing an alternative route between Ring Road and AB Road.
