India’s aviation sector is experiencing robust growth, driven by significant enhancements in connectivity and the rapid expansion of airport infrastructure. According to the International Air Transport Association (IATA), these improvements have laid a strong foundation for the industry to meet increasing demand and support sustainable development. New routes and better airport facilities are facilitating smoother domestic travel, while developments in sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) signal a commitment to environmental goals.
IATA Country Director Amitabh Khosla highlighted that stronger domestic carriers and upgraded airport networks are key factors in this upward trajectory. He noted that India’s emergence as the world’s third-largest aviation market underscores the success of these strategic initiatives. Despite a high-cost environment and tax uncertainties, the country’s aviation industry is well-positioned for further expansion, thanks to continued investments in terminals, runways, and technology.
