Date:

Lucknow, the Uttar Pradesh government has launched an ambitious “Mission 2031” initiative aimed at modernizing rural infrastructure and improving essential services across the state. A proposal for over ₹2.15 lakh crore has been submitted to the Central Finance Commission, allocating ₹1.74 lakh crore to gram panchayats, ₹17,334 crore to block-level development and ₹22,940 crore toward district panchayat upgrades.

The funding is earmarked for enhancing roads, water supply, electricity access, repairs, and maintenance. Crucially, Mission 2031 also includes a plan for ₹1.29 lakh crore to support infrastructure development in 17 municipal corporations, demonstrating a dual urban-rural focus.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath envisions every village becoming self-sufficient and thriving by 2031. Officials anticipate that the massive investment will not only uplift living standards but also generate local employment and boost economic opportunities in rural areas.
