Gadkari Unveils FASTag Annual Pass, Save Up to Rs 7,000 on Toll

Date:

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has announced a game-changing FASTag annual pass for private vehicles, launching on 15 August 2025. Priced at just ₹3,000, the pass offers up to 200 toll trips or validity of one year from activation, whichever comes first on national highways and expressways.

Targeted at non‑commercial vehicles (cars, jeeps, and vans), this scheme slashes travel costs dramatically. Gadkari emphasized that current annual toll spending can be around ₹10,000; with this scheme, that drops to about ₹15 per trip, potentially saving users up to ₹7,000 annually.

Activated easily via an existing FASTag, no new tag or documentation needed, users can sign up through the Rajmarg Yatra App, NHAI, or MoRTH portals. The pass remains optional and FASTag continues to work normally at state  and local‑authority toll plazas.

Gadkari added that the move will minimise toll plaza congestion and disputes, significantly improving travel efficiency on routes where toll points sit within 60 km of each other.
