Studio Tim Fu Wins Landmark AI-Driven Architecture Project in Slovenia

Date:

London-based architect Studio Tim Fu has secured a contract to design the 22,000-sq-m Lake Bled Estate in Slovenia, marking what the firm describes as the world’s first fully AI-driven architectural project.

Set near the historic Vila Epos—designed in 1909 by Jože Plečnik—the estate will feature six luxury villas. The AI system analysed Slovenian architectural traditions, uncovering elements like timber-clad façades, which the studio reimagined into vertical atriums at each villa’s entrance. The design blends biophilic principles and local cultural influences with cutting-edge technology.

Studio Tim Fu emphasized that AI has enhanced human-centric design by making the process more efficient without reducing human input. “AI is igniting a revolution in design,” said founder Tim Fu. “It allows us to deliver innovation with unmatched speed and precision.”

The villas—ranging from two to four bedrooms—will feature adaptable interiors and face a central park. The project is funded by an undisclosed Slovenian philanthropist and is seen as a pioneering effort in future-forward architecture.

“This is the first time AI has been embedded so deeply in architecture—from prototyping to heritage and environmental optimization,” said project lead Rada Daleva. The estate is set to redefine the relationship between technology and tradition in architecture.
