India’s Longest Ropeway: Parwanoo to Shimla in Just Two Hours by 2030

Date:

Himachal Pradesh is set to revolutionize travel with the construction of India’s longest ropeway, connecting Parwanoo to Shimla. Spanning an impressive 40 kilometers, the project is anticipated to be operational by 2030, significantly reducing travel time between these two destinations from over four hours by road to just two hours. This ambitious development is part of the government’s initiative to enhance sustainable tourism and decongest road traffic in the region.

The ropeway will feature state-of-the-art cable cars with advanced safety measures, offering passengers breathtaking panoramic views of the lush Himalayan landscape. With multiple intermediate stations planned along the route, the project aims to boost tourism by providing convenient access to popular attractions and lesser-known gems nestled in the hills.

The eco-friendly project will not only cater to tourists but also provide a faster and more reliable mode of transportation for locals. By reducing vehicular emissions, the ropeway aligns with Himachal Pradesh’s commitment to promoting green and sustainable tourism.

This initiative promises to set new benchmarks for infrastructure development in India, blending convenience, sustainability, and tourism growth. Once completed, the Parwanoo-Shimla ropeway will undoubtedly become a must-visit attraction, reshaping travel in the Himalayan region.
