AI-Powered BuildNow to Revolutionize Building Approvals in Telangana

Date:

Hyderabad: The Telangana government has announced the launch of BuildNow, an AI-powered system designed to streamline building approval processes. Replacing the TG-BPASS system, BuildNow promises faster, more efficient approvals, marking a significant step in digital governance. The initiative was unveiled by IT and Industries Minister Sridhar Babu during a press conference at the Secretariat on December 3.

The new system reduces the approval time for non-high-rise buildings from 21 to 15 days and occupancy certificate issuance from 15 to 10 days. Notably, drawing inspections will be completed in just five minutes, a dramatic improvement over the previous timeline that often extended to weeks for high-rise structures.

BuildNow offers a multilingual, AI-driven interface supporting Telugu, English, and Urdu, simplifying navigation of government regulations. It also integrates augmented reality for 3D visualization of building layouts, improving accuracy and transparency.

A mobile site inspection app is another standout feature, enabling real-time data uploads, such as layout images and road measurements, directly from the field. This innovation aims to enhance efficiency in site evaluations.

Training sessions for architects, officials, and community leaders are planned to ensure a seamless transition. Minister Babu emphasized that BuildNow represents a leap toward uninterrupted, user-friendly services for Telangana’s construction sector.
