The Water Resources Department (WRD) of Odisha has issued a tender for the construction of an underground pipeline (UGPL) distribution system as part of the Turi-Guntat irrigation project in Nabarangpur district. The initiative aims to enhance irrigation infrastructure and ensure efficient water distribution for agricultural use.
The project will be executed on an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) basis, covering key components such as power connectivity, electro-mechanical works, participatory irrigation management (PIM), and operation & maintenance for a period of five years or five Kharif seasons, whichever is longer.
With an estimated budget of Rs 212.37 crores, the project is expected to be completed within 30 months, including the rainy season. The initiative aligns with Odisha’s efforts to modernize its irrigation system and enhance agricultural productivity in the region.
The last date for bid submission is 03 March 2025, inviting participation from eligible contractors with expertise in irrigation infrastructure development. The project is expected to benefit local farmers by ensuring efficient water utilization and better crop yield, contributing to the state’s agricultural growth.
