Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari has reiterated that developing world-class road connectivity in Uttar Pradesh remains one of the Central Government’s top priorities. During a review meeting with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the minister stressed that a modern and efficient road network is essential for strengthening economic growth, improving logistics and attracting new investments across the state.
The meeting focused on accelerating the execution of ongoing highway projects by ensuring timely land acquisition, forest clearances, utility shifting and other statutory approvals. Officials were directed to resolve pending issues quickly so that infrastructure projects can be completed without delays.
The Centre is also working towards providing seamless four-lane connectivity to district headquarters, enhancing travel convenience and boosting regional development. Improved road infrastructure is expected to reduce travel time, improve freight movement and create new opportunities for businesses, industries and tourism.
The government highlighted that Uttar Pradesh has emerged as a major contributor to India’s economic growth, making infrastructure development a key focus area. With several highway and expressway projects already underway and additional investments planned, the state’s transportation network is set to become more efficient and future-ready.
The continued expansion of road infrastructure is expected to strengthen connectivity between urban and rural regions, generate employment, support industrial growth and improve the overall quality of life for millions of residents across Uttar Pradesh.
