Hyderabad: The Telangana government has announced plans for the Greenfield Radial Road, named Ratan Tata Road, to enhance regional connectivity and urban development. The Rs 4,030 crore project will link the Tata Interchange at Raviryal on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) to the Regional Ring Road (RRR) at Amangal.
Spanning 41.5 km, the expressway will pass through six mandals—Maheshwaram, Ibrahimpatnam, Kandukur, Yacharam, Kadthal, and Amangal—covering 14 villages in Rangareddy district. The project will be executed in two phases:
- Phase I (19.2 km, Rs 1,665 crore) from ORR (Raviryal) to Meerkhanpet
- Phase II (22.3 km, Rs 2,365 crore) from Meerkhanpet to RRR (Amangal)
The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) and Hyderabad Growth Corridor (HGCL) will oversee the construction of the 100-mtrs-wide access-controlled expressway. Initially a six-lane (3+3) highway, provisions have been made for future expansion to eight lanes.
A 20-mtrs-wide central median has been designated for a future metro or railway corridor, aligning with long-term urban mobility plans. The expressway will include service roads, a greenbelt, cycle tracks, footpaths, and a utility corridor, supporting sustainable transport infrastructure.
