Date:

Tejas Networks has been chosen as the primary broadband equipment supplier for Tamil Nadu’s BharatNet Last Mile Connectivity (LMC) project. Spearheaded by TANFINET with Polycab India serving as the Master System Integrator, the initiative aims to provide high-speed internet access to approximately 50,000 government institutions, including public health centers and schools.

The project will deploy Tejas Networks’ advanced Gigabit Passive Optical Network (GPON) technology, Optical Line Terminals (OLT), Optical Network Terminals (ONT), and a robust Management System. This infrastructure will establish a high-capacity, multi-gigabit broadband network across Tamil Nadu.

Beyond serving institutional needs, the initiative will also enable Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) services in rural regions, bridging the digital divide. Partnerships with local cable operators and telecom providers will further expand internet access to households, empowering rural communities.

As part of the Tata Group, Tejas Networks is renowned for its innovative, high-performance networking solutions. Its modular and feature-rich product portfolio ensures enterprise-grade service delivery. The Tamil Nadu BharatNet LMC project underscores the company’s commitment to leveraging technology to foster digital inclusion and transform rural India’s connectivity landscape.
