A consortium led by STRABAG has secured a major €194 million infrastructure contract in Slovenia to construct a crucial section of the country’s Northern Corridor, a project considered vital for improving regional connectivity and supporting economic growth. The development marks another significant step in Slovenia’s long-term transport modernization plan.
According to official project details, the contract includes the construction of new road links, bridges, and supporting infrastructure that will strengthen connections between northern Slovenia and key European transport routes. Authorities stated that the Northern Corridor is expected to enhance trade movement, reduce travel time, and improve logistics efficiency across the region.
STRABAG, along with its consortium partners, will be responsible for executing complex engineering works, including earthworks, structural construction, and safety systems. The project is part of a broader European infrastructure initiative aimed at upgrading cross-border transport networks and supporting sustainable mobility.
Government officials highlighted that the investment will not only improve transportation but also create employment opportunities and boost local economic activity during the construction phase. The project is scheduled to be completed in phases, with strict quality and environmental standards in place.
