Reliance Industries to Build Gigawatt-Scale AI Data Center in Gujarat

Date:

Reliance Industries is set to establish a gigawatt-scale artificial intelligence (AI) data center in Jamnagar, Gujarat. This ambitious project was announced by Reliance Jio chairman Mukesh Ambani during the company’s 47th annual general meeting. Highlighting their commitment to “democratizing AI,” Ambani emphasized that the data center would be entirely powered by Reliance’s green energy initiatives, aligning with the company’s sustainability goals.

“We plan to establish gigawatt-scale AI-ready data centers in Jamnagar, powered entirely by Reliance’s green energy, reflecting our commitment to sustainability and a greener future,” Ambani stated. The initiative aims to position India as a global leader in affordable AI applications by delivering the world’s lowest AI inferencing costs.

In addition, Reliance is introducing “Jio Brain,” a suite of AI tools designed to enhance decision-making, prediction accuracy, and customer insights. The company is also launching the Jio AI-Cloud Welcome Offer, which provides Jio users with up to 100 GB of free cloud storage to encourage AI adoption.

Reliance Jio, part of Reliance Industries, has already made strides in digital infrastructure through Digital Connexion, a joint venture that launched its first data center in Chennai earlier this year. This venture further solidifies Reliance’s role in India’s evolving AI ecosystem.
