Jaipur – The Rajasthan government has granted industry status to the logistics sector, aiming to create an investor-friendly regulatory framework, streamline operations, and drive infrastructure development. The policy, approved by the state cabinet on Tuesday, is set to enhance logistics and construction growth, ensuring better connectivity and private sector participation.
Ajitabh Sharma, Principal Secretary (Industries), stated, “The policy will drive economic growth, social development, and environmental sustainability. Given its pivotal role, the government has decided to extend industry status to the logistics sector.”
As part of this initiative, RIICO will allocate land in new industrial zones for logistics infrastructure, including warehouses, cold storage, dry ports, container freight stations, and logistics parks. The move is expected to significantly impact construction and industrial development, as Rajasthan serves as a major trade corridor linking northern and western India.
With nine economic corridors and strong intersections of national highways, railway networks, and expressways, the state aims to establish itself as a key logistics and construction hub. Additionally, under the Rajasthan Investment Promotion Scheme, incentives such as tax exemptions and interest subsidies will encourage private sector participation through the PPP model, accelerating the growth of modern logistics and infrastructure in the state.
