Pune’s ₹1,684 Crore Multi-Modal Logistics Park Project Moves into Bidding Stage

Date:

The much-anticipated Multi-Modal Logistics Park (MMLP) near Pune has reached a key milestone, with pre-feasibility studies completed and the bidding process now underway. Envisioned as a game-changer for the region’s freight movement, the ₹1,684.77 crore project will integrate road, rail, and air transport to create a seamless logistics ecosystem.

Strategically located near Talegaon, the MMLP will cover 334.96 acres and enjoy direct connectivity to the Pune-Mumbai Expressway, NH-548D (Hyderabad route), and vital railway lines linking Mumbai and Bengaluru. Its proximity to the upcoming Pune International Airport and major industrial hubs in Chakan and Talegaon MIDC will further enhance its appeal as a logistics powerhouse.

Developed under a public-private partnership (PPP), the project involves National Highways Logistics Management (NHLML), Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC), and Rail Vikas Nigam (RVNL). The special purpose vehicle (SPV) structure allocates equity stakes of 57.27% to NHLML, 26% to RVNL, and 16.73% to MIDC.

Once operational, the facility will provide freight aggregation, warehousing, cargo processing, and customs clearance, aiming to reduce logistics costs, boost regional connectivity, and promote greener transport solutions through reduced carbon emissions. This MMLP is expected to transform Pune into a major logistics hub for western India.
