PCMC Plans 5-Year Infrastructure Overhaul for Industrial Hubs

Date:

In a major push to upgrade industrial zones, the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has announced plans to roll out a comprehensive five-year infrastructure development blueprint specifically targeting the city’s industrial areas.

The plan aims to address long-standing issues such as poor roads, inadequate drainage systems, inconsistent water supply, and outdated waste management infrastructure across key industrial belts like Bhosari, Chakan, and Talawade. PCMC officials revealed that the strategy is being drafted in consultation with industry stakeholders, infrastructure experts, and civic engineers to ensure ground-level needs are met effectively.

“Industrial areas are the backbone of PCMC’s economy. This dedicated infrastructure plan will streamline growth, attract new investment, and resolve logistical bottlenecks,” said a senior PCMC official. The five-year vision will also include provisions for digital infrastructure, improved public amenities, and last-mile connectivity.

The plan is currently in the proposal stage and will soon be presented before the general body for approval. Once sanctioned, work is expected to begin in phases, with funding sourced from both government allocations and public-private partnerships.

PCMC’s proactive move is being welcomed by industry associations who have long demanded better infrastructure to sustain productivity and business competitiveness in the region.
