Varanasi, India – National Highways Logistics Management (NHLML) and the Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop a state-of-the-art Multi-Modal Logistics Park (MMLP) in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. The agreement was formalized in the presence of Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari and Sarbananda Sonowal.
Spanning 150 acres, the MMLP will be strategically connected to NH-7 via a 650-meter access road, just 1.5 km from the NH7-NH2 junction. It will also link to the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor through a 5.1 km railway line from Jeonathpur Station and have direct access to National Waterway-1. Additionally, the Lal Bahadur Shastri Airport is only 30 km away, ensuring seamless connectivity across multiple transport modes.
This project is poised to enhance trade efficiency, reduce logistics costs, and attract large-scale investments in the region. It is expected to create significant employment opportunities and strengthen the overall logistics infrastructure in Uttar Pradesh. The integration of road, rail, and waterway connectivity will make Varanasi a key logistics hub, driving economic growth and fostering ease of doing business in the region.
