The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is set to develop a crucial 30-km expressway linking the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL) to the Pune Expressway. This ambitious project aims to enhance connectivity, reduce travel time, and decongest existing road networks between Mumbai and Pune.
The expressway will serve as a direct corridor, facilitating seamless movement between Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, and Pune. The initiative is expected to improve logistics and boost economic activity by ensuring faster transportation of goods and passengers.
With the rapid development of Navi Mumbai International Airport and industrial hubs in the region, the new road infrastructure is anticipated to ease traffic congestion and support urban expansion. The expressway will also integrate with major highways and arterial roads, making travel more efficient.
The project aligns with NHAI’s vision of modernizing India’s road network and is part of the broader plan to enhance infrastructure under the Bharatmala initiative. Once completed, it will significantly cut down travel time and offer a smoother transit experience for commuters and businesses.
