NHAI Targets August-End Completion of Mandi–Pandoh Highway Stretch

Date:

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) aims to complete the Mandi‑Pandoh segment of the Kiratpur–Manali four‑lane highway by the end of August. The project includes three vital road bridges, two of which are nearly finished and poised to open soon, while the final bridge’s completion remains contingent on the weather. Monsoon rains in the Mandi region have impeded progress, but construction continues at pace as teams mobilise around the clock.

The opening of the two bridges is expected to relieve much‑needed traffic congestion and enhance road safety. This stretch plays a critical role in connecting residents and tourists to key destinations like Kullu‑Manali and Lahaul‑Spiti. The convergence of heavy monsoon traffic with the apple‑harvest season has heightened the route’s strategic importance. The NHAI has pledged full deployment of resources to meet the month‑end deadline, weather permitting.
