NABL and CREDAI Partner to Enhance Construction Quality in India

Date:

The National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) and the Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India (CREDAI) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance the quality and reliability of temporary site testing laboratories in civil engineering projects. The MoU was signed in the presence of Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, highlighting the government’s commitment to ensuring high construction standards.

This partnership aims to improve on-site material testing accuracy, fostering safer and more durable infrastructure across India. Temporary site testing laboratories play a crucial role in civil engineering projects, particularly for large-scale constructions exceeding 50,000 sq. ft. These labs ensure quality assurance by testing materials like aggregates and concrete cubes directly at construction sites.

To further elevate standards, NABL has introduced a recognition scheme focused on test accuracy and reliability. This initiative ensures that materials used in construction meet the highest quality standards, thereby strengthening trust in infrastructure development.

The collaboration between NABL and CREDAI sets a new benchmark for sustainable and resilient infrastructure, empowering developers with dependable testing mechanisms and ensuring safer, more reliable structures for India’s growing urban landscape.
