MP to Resolve Construction and Customs Issues at Kadakola Logistics Park

Date:

Mysuru: Mysore MP Yaduveer Wadiyar has pledged to swiftly address the operational challenges at the Multi Modal Logistics Park in Kadakola, Mysuru. Inaugurated virtually by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in March 2024 at a cost of Rs 100 crore, the inland container depot has remained largely underutilized due to the absence of an on-site customs clearance facility. Local industries currently depend on distant ports such as Chennai, Mangaluru, and Kochi, undermining the depot’s potential to serve businesses efficiently. Suresh Jain, general secretary of the MSME Council in Mysuru, emphasized that without customs services, the facility cannot support timely cargo movement.

Responding to these concerns, Yaduveer Wadiyar admitted he was previously unaware of the issue and assured stakeholders that he would coordinate with central and state authorities to enable customs clearance at the park without delay .

He also announced plans to make Mysuru Palace plastic-free on Maharaja Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar’s birth anniversary by installing a water vending machine on the palace grounds, and to distribute 20 kg of food rations to over 3,500 civic workers at Maharaja’s College Ground to support them for a month. He urged the Mysuru City Corporation and local police to protect statues from vandalism .
