Kochi’s Cochin Sports City to Become India’s First Carbon-Neutral Sports Hub

In Kochi, several exciting new projects are underway that reflect the city’s growing infrastructure. Notably, a significant project in the sports sector is the development of the Cochin Sports City, which will be the first carbon-neutral sports city in India. This INR 750 crore project, located near Chengamanad village, is set to feature an international cricket stadium with a seating capacity of 40,000, along with a wide array of sports facilities like indoor and outdoor practice areas, a sports academy, fitness centers, and water sports parks. The project has been approved by the BCCI and is awaiting further state government approvals​.
