In November 2024, India’s manufacturing sector is witnessing significant strides, particularly in electronics and automotive industries, positioning the country as a growing global hub for production. Tata Electronics’ new ₹6,000 crore manufacturing facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, is set to begin production of iPhones in November, signaling a major boost to India’s electronics manufacturing landscape. This facility, which is Apple’s fourth in the country, aims to create employment for 50,000 workers, most of whom will be women, further strengthening the government’s push for “Make in India.” The facility will be crucial in meeting Apple’s growing demand for iPhones, both for the domestic and export markets​.
