Hitachi Construction Machinery Strengthens Global Presence with New Development Center in India

Date:

Hitachi Construction Machinery Co., Ltd. (TSE: 6305) has announced the establishment of a new subsidiary, Hitachi Construction Machinery Development Center India Private Limited, to be operational by late December. The initiative underscores the company’s commitment to bolstering its product development capabilities by leveraging India’s abundant talent pool in IT and mechanical engineering. Based in Hubballi, Karnataka—a smart city with flourishing infrastructure, education, and startup ecosystems—the center aims to scale up to 200 engineers and designers by FY2027.

The newly formed subsidiary will focus on the development and design of globally deployed products such as hydraulic excavators and wheel loaders. It will also explore innovations in operator cabs, structural technologies, and conduct Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) simulations to optimize strength, heat transmission, and noise reduction in machinery.

To ensure a seamless integration of skills and expertise, the center plans to recruit top engineering talent locally and provide training in Japan, preparing for full-scale operations by April 2026.

This strategic move aligns with Hitachi Construction Machinery’s broader vision to accelerate product innovation and deliver high-performance machinery, addressing evolving customer needs while strengthening its global footprint in construction equipment solutions.
