Gurugram Prepares for Major Pre-Monsoon Infrastructure Overhaul: Toll Plaza Shift & Road Upgrades

Date:

Gurugram is staging a significant infrastructure push ahead of the monsoon, targeting smoother commutes, improved drainage, and greater flood resilience. The most notable development is the approved relocation of the Kherki Daula toll plaza—from its congested NH‑48 location to Panchgaon, likely within three months. Implementing a Multi-Lane Free Flow model with FASTag integration, this move will render Delhi–Manesar travel toll-free and reduce bottlenecks across the corridor.

Complementing the toll shift, the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has upgraded 95 km of master roads and the Municipal Corporation has resurfaced 44 km of internal roads. A new flyover at Dadi Sati Chowk is in DPR stages to decongest traffic in sectors 85–90. Additionally, two Southern Peripheral Road segments (350 m and 170 m) are set for completion after land clearances, further enhancing connectivity.

On the preparedness front, a flood control centre has been activated, with mock drills underway, regular desilting of drains, and work on an unlined feeder into the Badshahpur drain. NHAI is also expediting cleaning of three NH‑48 culverts. A water-boosting station in Sector 72 will go live in September to stabilize supply to sectors 85–115.

These coordinated efforts—ranging from toll relocation to flood readiness—signal Gurugram’s drive toward resilient, monsoon-ready infrastructure, directly benefiting residents and commuters.
