Gujarat Unveils Integrated Logistics Master Plan to Strengthen State and City Supply Chains

Date:

The Gujarat government has taken a significant step to strengthen the state’s logistics and supply chain ecosystem with the launch of its State Integrated Logistics Master Plan (ILMP), along with City Logistics Plans (CLPs) for Rajkot, Bhavnagar, Jamnagar, and Junagadh. The plans were unveiled at the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conclave held in Rajkot on January 12, 2026.

The ILMP outlines a long-term project pipeline valued at over ₹1.80 lakh crore for the period 2026 to 2047. It adopts a multimodal logistics approach, integrating road, rail, air, and sea transport to reduce overall logistics costs and improve the efficiency of goods movement across the state. By strengthening connectivity between ports, industrial corridors, and production hubs, the plan aims to support Gujarat’s expanding manufacturing base and export-driven economy.

At the city level, the CLPs focus on addressing urban logistics challenges such as traffic congestion, inefficient freight movement, and last-mile delivery issues. Measures include better freight planning, designated logistics zones, and improved coordination between urban infrastructure and commercial activity.

Key priorities under the plan include the development of logistics parks, multimodal hubs, and seamless port connectivity. Aligned with national logistics reforms and the PM Gati Shakti initiative, the strategy reinforces Gujarat’s ambition to emerge as a leading investment destination for MSMEs, manufacturing, exports, and e-commerce.
