Gujarat CM Flags Off 151 Super Express Buses to Strengthen State Transport

Date:

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel flagged off 151 new Super Express S.T. buses in Gandhinagar on July 30, 2025; a strategic push to modernize Gujarat’s public transport network. At a total cost of ₹52.63 crore, these buses are part of a massive expansion: 2,063 new vehicles scheduled for rollout this fiscal year, including 100 air‑conditioned coaches under a public‑private partnership (PPP) model.

During the ceremony, Transport Minister Harsh Sanghavi emphasized that the new fleet will significantly enhance connectivity, especially to remote regions, delivering safer, faster and more comfortable journeys for millions of daily commuters. Serving over 27 lakh passengers daily, Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) continues to strengthen its role as the backbone of state mobility.

This expansion reaffirms the state government’s commitment to meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of upgrading road infrastructure and mass transit, unlocking inclusive growth and smoother regional connectivity.
