Gujarat Attracts Rs 1.24 Lakh Crore in Semiconductor Project Investments

Gujarat is poised to become a semiconductor hub, with four leading companies investing Rs 1.24 lakh crore in new projects. The Gujarat Semiconductor Policy 2022-2027 has attracted significant investments, creating 53,000 job opportunities.

Micron’s advanced semiconductor ATMP plant in Sanand will receive Rs 22,500 crore. Dholera’s ‘Semicon City’ will host India’s first AI-enabled semiconductor fabrication facility, a joint venture between Tata Electronics and Taiwan’s PSMC, worth Rs 91,000 crore.

CG Power and Renesas will establish a semiconductor OSAT facility in Sanand GIDC with Rs 7,500 crore. Kaynes Semicon’s Sanand facility, approved by the state government, will produce 60 lakh chips daily with Rs 3,300 crore. These state-of-the-art facilities will reduce India’s dependence on imported semiconductor chips and catalyze job creation in automotive, electronics, medical equipment, and telecommunications. Gujarat’s strategic vision focuses on fostering the semiconductor industry’s expansion, contributing to economic development and technological advancement.
